The Ghanaian non-profit Ryvanz-Mia Childcare association strives to offer all children in the community the educational and training opportunities they need to grow up in a safe, loving, and stimulating environment.  Since 2006, the association assists 17 orphaned or needy children to allow them to change their future!

Organization description

Founded in 2006, Ryvanz-Mia Childcare is a non-profit organization from Ghana that offers better life prospects to children who are placed in our care for various reasons.  We promote the development and growth of children through various initiatives designed to support, feed, educate and welcome the children living in our facility.

RMC has been registered with the Registrar General  Department of the Republic of Ghana as a non-profit NGO since 2006.

Our mission: To promote the growth of RMC's children, offering them a better quality of life and better opportunities to become active and responsible members of the community.  This is why we are committed to guaranteeing them a good education and the opportunity to fulfill themselves, each according to their potential.  Their emotional well-being is also one of our priorities: this is why we promote initiatives such as that of Christmas donations so that all children receive a gift on the occasion of this holiday!

An important resource for our children is that of the Library and Computer Rooms.  We believe that the library is essential for our children to grow up with an open mind and to be able to live in a world full of innovations.

In addition to ensuring the well-being and growth of children within our orphanage, RMC is a reference player within the community.  We also deal with:

Community Outreach: We seek to offer long-term assistance and solutions to problems affecting communities.  We want to help make our communities better, safer, healthier, and more welcoming to those who live there.  This initiative allows us to engage children in appropriate service activities to learn to care for their community.  In addition, we carry out missions within hospitals to help those who need it most.

Sustainable Projects: we invest heavily in our agriculture and livestock projects to ensure the food sustainability of our orphanage.  We keep about a hundred birds!  In addition to sustainability, the project provides a series of economic benefits thanks to the exchange and sale of products.  We desire to be able to meet the needs of the orphanage through the sale of our products!  In addition to crops, we carry out poultry, piggery, goat farms, and the Tie and Dye projects.

Activities and Roles

Ryvanz-Mia Childcare makes use of the collaboration of volunteers to carry out or enhance the following activities:

Teaching and Childcare: we are always looking for volunteers to support teaching activities at the elementary school our children attend or in our "special school" and "pre-school" at the orphanage.

Healthcare: Children often need medical visits and check-ups, vaccines, and simple treatments for minor illnesses or injuries.  Volunteers with a medical background can help us monitor and promote children's health!

Sustainable agriculture: on our plots, we grow corn, rice, and cassava, and we raise chickens or pigs.  This agricultural production helps feed residents and staff at RMC and allows us to have some small income from the sale.  Volunteers help us take care of our lands.

Arts and Sports: Volunteers can propose training in basketball, volleyball, soccer, and other sports.  In addition, they are encouraged to organize activities related to dance, music, and painting!  We welcome all the proposals that allow our children to cultivate their talents.

Construction and Community Beautification: experienced volunteers will help us with the construction activities of the new school and pre-school buildings.  In addition, it is possible to contribute to the beautification of our headquarters by cultivating and planting new trees, creating murals, or carrying out cleaning and maintenance activities.

Social Media Director: volunteers support the association by updating the web page and posting posts on our social channels to promote the association, launch fundraising campaigns and find new supporters and partners.

Project Proposal Writing & Fundraising Officer: Volunteers can help us identify new donors, grantmakers, and foundations and work with staff to prepare applications as needed.

Our volunteers work approximately 6 hours a day from Monday to Thursday or from Monday to Friday.  During the weekend, volunteers can go sightseeing and visit the attractions of our region.

Ryvanz-Mia is happy to welcome and has cultivated excellent relationships with volunteers since 2006!  We are committed to always value and recognize our volunteers' work because we know that their contribution is important.

Volunteering at RMC allows you to develop new skills and meet new people while offering inspiration and hope to others.

So, if you are looking for a way to contribute to change and concretely help others, contact us!

Outreach Mission

Taking care of orphaned children is the primary goal of Ryvanz-Mia. With the help of dedicated volunteers and donors such as yourself, we give orphaned children the quality care and amenities they need in order to lead successful lives.

If you feel moved by the causes Ryvanz-Mia Childcare (Orphanage) promotes, we would very much appreciate your support and we welcome you to volunteer with us for a longer period or set up donations, please feel free to email us.

We are always in need of teachers to help educate our children. This includes teaching in our basic schools in order to help orphan children attend, or teaching in our special school. If you have experience in teaching, we would love to have you as a volunteer.

Under your help, support, and sponsorship, every child in the orphanage will be given a chance to enjoy the new books in the library that can provide them excellent opportunities, matching up with the privileged children around them. Therefore, we are promoting the One Child One Book per Term Project among the orphan children here in the orphanage. With the fund's set-up for the library books maintenance. If you are among those people who are looking for ways to help and want to donate some books for the orphans, you can always donate through us

Orphaned children are not the only community members who benefit from our program. We also extend our services through an outreach program to help school dropouts and other youth learn basic skills to help them survive.

These include learning skills such as tailoring, baking, and Batik Tye & Dye. These skills help give them a way to improve their lives, and their standard of living. We believe in the potential of all children, and extend our services to help those around us as much as possible.
